Providence Police Arrest 27-Year-Old Woman in Fatal East Side Hit-and-Run

Providence Police have released the name of the individual arrested in the fatal hit-and-run that occurred in the city this week.
GoLocal was first to report on Thursday that an 85-year-old woman had been struck while walking with her husband Wednesday morning in the area of North Main and Pleasant Streets on the East Side of Providence.
She later succumbed to her injuries.

At approximately 0617 hours on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Providence Police responded to North Main and Pleasant Streets for a report of a fatal pedestrian Hit and Run accident involving an 85 year old female victim.
Following an investigation into this incident, Providence Police today charged Caitlin Kelly, age 27 of Providence, with RIGL 31-26-1. Duty to stop in accidents resulting in personal injury. She is currently being held for next session of 6th District Court.
Kelly was also issued a RI Traffic Tribunal Summons for RIGL 31-26-3.2 - Immediate Notice of Accident.
