RI Suspends EMT’s License After Arrest for Sexual Assaults Involving 12 & 14-Year-Olds

The Rhode Island Department of Health has suspended the license of an EMT in the state — after he was arrested for sexual assaults on minors. 

This week, RIODH announced the summary suspenson of Richard Forslund Jr. (Respondent), an "emergency medical technician-cardiaclicensed to practice in Rhode Island under EMT License EMT18408."

RIDOH wrote:

"On September 25, 2023, Respondent was charged with one count of second degree child molestation sexual assault involving a 12 year old, one count of second degree sexual assault involving a 14 year old, and one count of disorderly conduct by the Burrillville Police Department, Rhode Island Judiciary Case No. 62-2023-07766.

After considering the above facts, the Director of Health finds that public health, safety, or welfare imperatively requires emergency action.

Based on the foregoing and pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws R.I. Gen. Laws § 23-4.1-9 and § 42-35-14, Respondent’s EMT-Cardiac license is SUSPENDED until further order of the department. 

A written request for hearing on this summary suspension may be filed with the Interim Director of the Department of Health within ten (10) days after service of this Summary Suspension. If a hearing is requested and held, an Administrative Hearing Officer shall preside over such hearing. As a result of the hearing, discipline may be imposed, up to and including revocation."
