Home Invasion Reported at Providence’s “Newest Luxury Rentals”

A home invasion at 580 South Water Street — the location of what developers are calling Providence’s “newest luxury rentals” — was reported early Wednesday morning.
Units at 580 Water Street start at $1900 a month, and go as high as $4500, according to the leasing website.

A female victim told police her safe had been robbed by three men.
According to police, the victim said that she had been walking her dog outside, and was approached by three masked men when she returned to to the building.
The victim said one of the men put his hand over her mouth, demanded access to her safe, and said he would kill her if she did not comply.
Police said the victim said she believed the men were armed.
The victim said she complied with the suspects' orders and that the men then fled with the safe from inside her apartment.
Detectives are currently investigating.
