UPDATED: 3 People Shot in Providence - One Dead

Providence police responded to a triple shooting in Providence on Tuesday — and one victim who had been in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital has died. 

According to police, authorities were alerted shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday to three people in the ER with gunshot wounds.

Reports of shots fired by the parking lot at the Rhode Island School for the Deaf were also called in to police at the time of the incident.

A photo of a vehicle at the shooting showed damage to one of the doors. 

According to police, the number of bullet holes indicated a semi-automatic weapon was used. 

In addition to the three shooting victims, two more individuals were at the scene of the shooting.

Police are currently investigating.
