About Incident

Shortly before 8 PM on Friday night, police responded to Plainfield Street for a report of a kidnapping.

According to police, witnesses pointed out a vehicle --  a white Toyota Sienna  -- and said the driver attempted to kidnap a minor.

Police reportedly stopped the vehicle and detained the driver -- later identified as Larios.

A witness told police they had seen Larios approach a group of juveniles selling candy at Plainfield and Rye Street, and that juveniles began shouting that Larios was trying to kidnap them.

The witness said he ran over and tried to detain Larios, but Larios got back in his vehicle before police arrived and apprehended him.

A juvenile at the scene told police Larios approached their group and asked him if he wanted candy and vape pens, and then grabbed him and tried to drag him into the vehicle; the rest of the juveniles began screaming at that time, according to statements provided to police.

Larios is being held for the next session of Sixth District Court.
