The City of Providence voted recently to permanently shut down The $3 Bar located at 242 Atwells Avenue in Providence in the Federal Hill district. This is mostly due to the neighboring businesses complaining that this bar attracted "the wrong clientele." The people that go to this bar are people that no longer want to be forced to pay ridiculous prices at places like Venda Bar, Sienna, and Opa. These establishments have not been able to handle what should have been friendly competition and an opportunity to diversify the offerings of our neighborhood. Instead, they have organized to negatively perpetrate the $3 Bar in all media outlets. The story that has not been shared is that Rhode Island having the highest unemployed rate in the nation has put 30 hard working people out of a job, and that while we sincerely regret any unapproved behavior that resulted in negative consequences, we have complied with all security laws that are require of any business across our state.
We need to get as many people to sign this petition to show the City of Providence that The $3 Bar is a wanted place by the residents of Rhode Island for a cheaper alternative to have a good night out. Venda Bar organized a petition to get The $3 Bar shut down, this is the only opportunity you have as a friend and customer of The $3 Bar to help us stay in business. LINK TO PETITION
