Former Ocean State Job Lot employee arrested for alleged theft of nearly $20K
Former Ocean State Job Lot Sales Audit Coordinator Jennifer Cotrone was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police for allegedly stealing nearly $20,000.

Cotrone, 44, of Coventry is charged with one felony count of larceny over $1,500 and one felony count of accessing a computer for fraudulent purposes.

The Investigation

Members of the State Police Detective Bureau, conducted an investigation into possible employee theft of an eighteen (18) year employee of the Rhode Island-based company.

The investigation originated from missing promotional gift cards or “Crazy Deal” gift cards, which was discovered by the Asset Protection Unit.

The State Police allege that Cotrone would obtain “Crazy Deal” cards from retail locations and use them for personal expenditures.

Additionally, Cotrone is alleged to have issued refund credits to a Visa credit card and an American Express credit card account for her personal benefit through the Ocean State Job Lot computer system.
