15-Year-Old Stabbed in Attempted Sneaker Robbery in Providence

Police are reporting that a 15-year-old was stabbed on Tuesday night in Providence.
About Incident
Shortly after 6 PM, police responded to Sumter Street in the Elmwood neighborhood for a report of a stabbing.

According to police, the victim said he tried to run away, and the suspect chased after him and stabbed him in the back before fleeing.
Providence Police called EMTs, who treated the victim onsite.
Detectives are currently investigating.
