RI's Not That Fun, According to New Study

A new study says that in the grand scheme of things, Rhode Island is not all that fun. 

The rankings of “2021’s Most Fun States in America” released by WalletHub on Monday put Rhode Island at 46th most fun, with only Arkansas, Delaware, Mississippi, and West Virginia ranking worse.

Ouch.

"We all define 'fun' a bit differently, and hopefully the place in which we live caters to our personal ideas of entertainment," says WalletHub. "That’s not always the case, though, which may drive people to live somewhere new.

"With pure enjoyment in mind, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of a jolly good time that won’t break the bank," the continue. "They range from movie costs to accessibility of national parks to casinos per capita."

Rhode Island, according to the analysis, has the fewest move theaters per capita.

Also of note - WalletHub says that Rhode Island has the lowest state and local expenditures on parks and recreation per capita. 

The “most” fun states according to WalletHub?

California, Florida, Nevada, and New York.
