RI’s #7 School: Lincoln Senior High School
Monday, May 09, 2011
Pacing steadily with improvements across the board in the 2011 rankings, this large high school perched on a bluff in the center of RI's Blackstone Valley moves up to the #7 spot from #8 last year.
For Lincoln, NECAP improvements on all fronts, combined with an increase in spending per student, may have contributed the most to its move up the charts.
Heads for business, noses for news
Lincoln, like other high-ranking high schools, offers its students curriculum beyond traditional academics. Students can choose from courses ranging from International Business and Entrepreneurship to Cars, Homes & Loans and Advanced Accounting. On the extracurricular side, Lincoln High's newspaper, The Lions' Roar, has recently taken another first place from the American Scholastic Press Association.
