Starting at the Brick Market Museum the tour will show off Newport as it was in 1777 with enemies and allies living right next to each other. Tourists will learn about the city’s rum trade and path to rebellion that ended in the American Revolution.

The tour will make its way through Washington Square where there will be a reenactment of the summer of 1777 and the British Occupation of Newport will be ongoing.

The walking tour comes to an end at the White Horse Tavern where tourists will have the opportunity to sample rum in a reproduction standard sized Royal Navy cup used in the 18th century.
