As New Year's Eve approaches, there is plenty going on in Rhode Island and plenty of places to ring in 2016. From Providence to Newport, GoLocalTV helps you figure out where to go and what do do.

ONE BIG EVENT
The big event is "One Providence Ball” created in conjunction with Edward Brady, Pat Paolino Cruz and, local tourism organizations and will be held at the RI Convention Center.
As of Wednesday night - this event has already sold 700 tickets and is expected to be the biggest in Rhode Island.
It is an event with live music, dancing, late night bites, desserts, beverages, $10,000 in giveaways, balloon drop at midnight, and much more.
The event runs from 9 pm - 3 am and entertainment will be provided by Project 401, Wayz and Means Band, DJ RM, Salsa y Gaitas, Ten 31 Productions along with a few other surprise performances.
The 'dress is to impress.'
Local hotel and restaurant packages have been prepared for those who would like to extend their stay in Providence and, or enjoy the city's restaurants. An open, inviting layout has been created within the event - making it ideal for singles, couples and groups alike. Giveaways will be held throughout the night and include: 1 karat diamond from Reflections by National Gold in North Providence, Free Car washes for a year by Freeway Carwash, $1000 car care package by Metro Motor Group, Two Front Row tickets to Style Week Northeast in February, and many others.
