America’s Most Wanted Creator John Walsh Coming To Newport Polo

John Walsh, American television personality, criminal investigator, human and victim rights advocate and the host, as well as creator of America’s Most Wanted, will be in Rhode Island as a special guest of Newport Polo this weekend. As part of its 22nd season of the Newport International Polo Series, Newport Polo will be hosting the Newport vs. New York match on Saturday, August 24th from 5-7pm, at the polo grounds at Glenn Farms.

Walsh, well known internationally for his advocacy, may not be as well known for his polo skills, but they will be in evidence on Aquidneck on Saturday. He will be the acting captain for the New York team in the Saturday match against Newport. Walsh has been a polo advocate and player for a few years now, and also has played in numerous charity events across the country.
A weekly door prize drawing will award two winners a gift card, courtesy of Massage Envy. The match will be followed by a trophy presentation and cocktail hour to mingle with the players. Dating back more than 130 years in Newport, the polo matches are a unique and popular summertime tradition, open to the public. Audiences of several thousand spectators enjoy cheering for the international guests, as well as teams representing major US cities, playing against the home team. The polo matches will run continuously every Saturday from June through September at 5pm (4pm in September).
