Necronomicon Providence
The International Conference and Festival of weird fiction, art and academia is here in Providence .
The convention explores the life and works of H.P. Lovecraft and other creators.
Most of the events will be held at the Biltmore and Omni hotels with other events being held near College Hill.

Head over to 2nd Story theatre and see the play 4,000 miles.
After suffering a tragic loss while on a cross-country bike trip, 21 year-old Leo seeks solace and shelter in the West Village apartment of his fiercely independent 91 year-old grandmother. Over the course of a one month cohabitation, these unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately comfort each other with curiosity and compassion
The play fruns Friday and Saturday (21st and 22nd) at 7 :30 p.m. with a matinee show on Sunday at 2:30.

Test your skills on a paddle board at the 6th Annual Race. Those entered will race around Goat Island in the Newport Harbor for prizes.
The event is put on to raise money for Clean Ocean Access which is a local non-profit that works to keep the coastline and waterways clean.

Aqua's Lobster Splash
Aqua, located on one orms street is hosting their first annual Lobster Splash on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $65 per person.
Each guest will receive 1 bucket of seafood (includes 1 whole lobster, clams, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn), and a selection of 3 beers from Pawtucket, RI’s own Foolproof Brewing Company.

The High Heel Dash is he kick off fundraiser for the Aids Walk for Life. This event, hosted at The Stable on Washington Street, will feature prizes for the winner and a block part afterward.
Registration is at noon and the race begins at 2 p.m. The cost is $25 to register for the race.
