Toe Jam Puppet Band

Friday July 3

Location: Blithewold Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum 101 Ferry Road in
Bristol.

This children's entertainment group will be performing outdoors from 11 am - 12 noon at the Blithewold Mansion.

Pack a lunch to bring with you because after the performance from 12 to 1 pm there will be picnics, crafts and fun.

Art Show

Friday July 3 

Location: 7 Canal Street in Westerly.

Come see the "Time, Tide, Wind & Water"/ACGOW Art Show located at Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly.

On Friday from 5-8pm enjoy the opening party which coincides with a silent auction.

Bristol Parade

Saturday July 4

Location: Corner of Chestnut Street and Hope Street in Bristol

Watch America's oldest 4th of July celebration. 

The parade begins at 10:30 AM at the corner of Chestnut Street and Hope Street and ends on High Street, between State Street and Bradford Street.

Irish Dance Championships

Saturday July 4

Location: Rhode Island Convention Center

The Rhode Island Convention Center will be hosting the 2015 North American Irish Dance Championships.

Admission is $30, and performances will be going on from 8am - 4:45pm on Saturday July 4.

Historic House Tour

Saturday July 4

Location: 5 Hopkins St in Providence

Take a tour of Governor Stephen Hopkins House.

The tours will occur from 10am to 4pm. There is no admission charge, and donations are appreciated. 

Governor Stephen Hopkins served 4 terms as Rhode Island's Governor back in the 1700s. 

As Chief Justice, Stephen Hopkins resisted the Crown's demands to prosecute the men who burned the H.M.S. Gaspee & shot its captain on June 2, 1772.

Red Chick Hatch

Saturday July 4

Location: 115 Strathmore Street in Narraganset

Visit the South County Museum located at 115 Strathmore Street in Narraganset between 10 AM–4 PM to witness Annual Independence Day Rhode Island Red Chick Hatch.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-12.

Wake Up with the Barnyard

Saturday July 4

Location: 1 Colt Drive in Bristol

Visit Coggeshell Farm to experience what life was like in the 1800s.

From 9-10:30 participate in the "Wake Up with the Barnyard" will help feed the livestock just as they did back when the United States first declared independence. 

Adult admission is $7 and kids are $5. 

Afterward enjoy a johnnycake cooked over the hearth.

Hear the Declaration

Saturday July 4

Location: Stone Bridge in Tiverton

Come listen to the words of the Declaration of Independence be read on this historic holiday. The event begins at 9 AM at the WWI Doughboy statue at Stone Bridge off of Main Street. 

The event typically takes less than a half hour.

River Boat Tour

Sunday July 5

Location: Madeira Avenue in Central Falls

Enjoy a forty-five minute historically narrated riven tour while riding in the Blackstone Valley Explorer.

Start the tour at Central Falls Landing located at Madeira Avenue and Broad Street.

The tours run hourly from 1 through 4pm and adult admission is $10 while children's admission is $8.

Movies in The Park

Sunday July 5

Location: 44 Broad Street in Westerly

Come watch Ghost Busters for free in Wilcox Park at 7:30 PM.

Favorite movie concessions, including candy, popcorn, and soft drinks will be sold at the showing.
