Loffredo Faces Foreclosure of East Greenwich Mansion. He Says, "There Is Gonna be a Pretty Big Shift in the Cases Next Week."

Andrew Loffredo’s financial and legal troubles are expanding. This week, he was served with a foreclosure notice on the $2 million East Greenwich mansion located at 5 Lenihan Lane.

Last week, GoLocal unveiled that 15 of Loffredo's business entities were placed into receivership by Superior Court Judge Brian Stern. Also, last week, a former employee alleged that Loffredo borrowed his life savings.

Loffredo is also facing charges by his former girlfriend and the mother of his children of sexual assault. That matter is pending in the Rhode Island Family Court. Loffredo denies those charges.

Then, Loffredo was arrested on Wednesday by East Greenwich Police and charged with filing a false police report. That arrest led to his being cited as a bail violator, as he was facing two other charges related to cyberstalking.

And, there are claims that Loffredo owes $30 million to Rhode Island businessman Stephen Soscia. Loffredo disputes the number, claiming it is closer to $10 million to $15 million.

Foreclosure Process

The home was purchased by Loffredo in December of 2023, and the sellers — Anthony and Janet Giarusso — held a mortgage of $1.6 million. The home is approximately 6,000 square feet and features an in-home theater and a swimming pool.

On Tuesday, a constable served Loffredo with the foreclosure notice. He has 21 days to respond. According to the affidavit of service by the constable, the notice was tacked to the door of the home.

GoLocal reached out to Loffredo, who initially did not respond to questions about whether he would fight the foreclosure, nor would he respond whether he would make a payment.  He wrote in a message, “Nobody dropped anything at my house. I haven’t received anything from being served all new to me.”

GoLocal provided Loffredo with the constable's affidavit that affirmed under penalty of law that the constable tacked it to the door of the home.

Further, GoLocal asked, “So you are saying the constable has filed a false document?”

Loffredo said, “Not saying that just saying, I haven’t received anything yet typically when you get served constable has to hand me the paperwork and I need to sign that acknowledging receipt.”

“Just to be clear I have until June 30th nothing has been foreclosed on nor has the process started,” said Loffredo.

"Big Shift in the Cases"

Then, in a series of text messages, Loffredo wrote, "Yes, just got the notice says I have till June 30th.  There is gonna be a pretty big shift in the cases next week hopefully will be current by end of month and will be taken care of."

East Greenwich Issues Violation

To add to the pile of legal issues.

The home was also cited by the town of East Greenwich.

Existing Condition: A site inspection revealed that vegetation within the designated open space area adjacent to the subject property has been cleared without authorization. Specifically, mature trees, understory vegetation, and ground cover have been removed from an area of approximately .5 acres within the protected open space depicted on the recorded subdivision plan referenced above.
