Tuesday, September 14, 2021
The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) announced Tuesday that Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) was selected as one of the Top Three Domestic Airports in the Travel + Leisure 2021 World’s Best Awards readers’ survey.
This is the latest award of excellence for Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport within the travel industry, which has been recognized by national reviewers seven times in the last five years including one of the “Best Small Airports” in the nation in USA Today’s “Ten Best” Readers’ Choice Awards for 2020 and 2021.
“I would like to congratulate the Rhode Island Airport Corporation family on an outstanding job achieving another recognition as one of the nation’s best airports,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, President and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “Happy passengers ultimately help increase the airport’s contributions to the travel and tourism economy of our great state.”

The #3 ranking from Travel + Leisure improves upon the Rhode Island airport’s Top Five placement in T+L’s “2020 World’s Best Awards.”
The airport was singled out by Travel + Leisure as a favorite of voters who prefer the ease of Warwick location to Boston Logan.
"It is the nicest, clean, friendliest airport I have ever been to," said one voter. "You can get in or out of this airport in a matter of minutes," said another. "I love it because it's big enough to have everything you need, but small enough to be easy to navigate," added another voter
“I’m proud to see that others are recognizing what we’ve always known,” said Warwick Mayor Frank Picozzi. “Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport provides an easy and pleasant gateway to tourism opportunities for Warwick as well as throughout our state.”
This year, Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport was recently selected by Breeze Airways as one of 16 inaugural airports in the nation, providing PVD with new direct connections to previously unserved business and travel destinations on the east coast. In the past year, Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport has expanded enhanced airport cleaning and sanitization, and also added family-friendly amenities and other customer service improvements while maintaining PVD’s ease of lower-stress travel preferred by so many throughout the region.
“This well-deserved honor brings significant national recognition to Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport, as well as our state, and provides a helpful boost to Rhode Island’s travel and tourism industry as the state and nation continue our recovery,” said Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee.
