Alex and Ani Founder Rafaelian Announces Launch of New Company

Alex and Ani founder Carolyn Rafaelian took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce she is no longer designing for the jewelry company — and is now launching a new endeavor.
Rafaelian is arguably the most successful woman in Rhode Island business history. In 2017, she was featured on the cover of Forbes magazine, but more recently lost control of Alex and Ani to an investment group.

Rafaelian on New Company
“There’s a lot going on — I thought I’d put some clarity around where I am and what I’m doing,” said Rafaelian.
She continued:
"I started a company called Alex and Ani, which is part of my DNA, it’s been part of me and something I’ve grown as the founder and creative force.
I am no longer designing for that company — I am excited to tell everyone I have started a new company called Metal Alchemist.
Metal Alchemist is where I plan on continuing all the love and efforts and designs that support things that are truly important to me, such as the Armenian Fund.
I want you to know, Armenian Fund, you have my heart, you have my prayers, and Armenia, you have everything I’m going to do moving forward."
