Gilbane Building Co. Gets Contract For New Veterans Home

Governor Lincoln Chafee along with House Finance Committee Chair Raymond E. Gallison Jr., House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Chair Jan P. Malik, and Senate Special Legislation and Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chair Walter S. Felag Jr. have announced that Gilbane Building Co. will get the contract for the new Veterans Home.
This new home was approved by 77 percent of Rhode Island voters in 2012 and will cost $94 million and will meet the special healthcare needs of our Veterans with state-of-the art therapy programs, both physical and occupational. The new home will also consist of laboratory units, a pharmacy and community space.
"I am pleased that a local company will be in charge of greatly improving living and community spaces for our Veterans. I am pleased that we are doing all we can for those who served our country," said Governor Chafee about the new building.
