RIC will host 26 annual walk-a-thon

Rhode Island Building & Construction Trades Council will hold its 26th Annual Walk-a-Thon at Rhode Island College on October 25, to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State. The walk is free with registration beginning at 9am and the walk starting at 10 am, rain or shine, in parking lot "J" on the RIC campus.

Participants will walk through the Rhode Island College campus and on the Fruit Hill section of North Providence. Free activities for children, such as face painting, a photo booth and a prize for the best Halloween Costume, will be featured this year. Tony the Dancing Cop will lead the walk alongside Honorary Chair Person, Gene Valicenti of WJAR NBC 10 and News Talk Radio 630 WPRO AM.

“Our dedicated tradesmen and women in the labor and union movement know the importance of volunteering and giving back to the community. Collectively we know we can make a big impact in the support of such a vital organization like the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State. I am also extremely proud and grateful to our many Signatory Contractors who sponsor this Walk. It’s always a great event and lots of fun for the whole family!” said Michael Sabitoni, The President of the Rhode Island Building and Trade Council.
