Fellowship-Trained Surgeon Joining Brown Surgical Associates’ Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery
Brown Surgical Associates today announced it is welcoming fellowship-trained surgeon Katherine P. MacCallum, M.D., to the practice’s Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.
MacCallum’s professional interests encompass the entirety of vascular surgery with a particular focus on critical limb ischemia and limb salvage, surgical education, and vascular sequelae in diabetes.
“Our mission at Brown Surgical Associates is to provide world-class surgical care to the people of Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts, and beyond,” said Dr. William Cioffi, President of Brown Surgical Associates. “The addition of a fellowship-trained surgeon as skilled as Dr. MacCallum to our world-renown vascular and endovascular surgery team will ensure we’re fulfilling that mission.”
MacCallum earned her medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, WI. She went on to complete her residency at Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and her fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Medstar Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University. As a native New Englander, MacCallum is excited to bring her practice back to the Northeast.
“When I heard of the opportunity to join the Vascular Surgery Division within Brown Surgical Associates, I jumped at the chance. As a born-and-raised New Englander, I was eager to be able to return closer to my family as well as to serve the people of Rhode Island,” MacCallum said. “There is such a need for excellent vascular care that is accessible and close to home. I hope that in starting my practice in this community, I will be able to help provide that for both Providence and the surrounding communities.”
MacCallum is now seeing patients at 2 Dudley Street, Suite 470 in Providence, RI, and in Smithfield at 900 Douglas Pike. She can be reached at 401-553-8325.
