Miss Rhode Island 2022 Crowned

Miss Rhode Island 2022 was crowned on Sunday.

According to the Miss Rhode Island Scholarship Organization, Abby Mansillo is the winner of this year's competition.

"The Miss America organization is one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the world's largest provider of scholarships for young women," says the nonprofit.

According to the competition, contestants must meet the following criteria;

You must be an unmarried female at least 17 years of age and no older than 25 years of age by December 31 of the year in which you intend to compete in the State Finals of the Miss RI Scholarship Program. You must also meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria:

You have been a resident of Rhode Island for at least six (6) months preceding the date of the Stage Pageant

You are presently a bona fide full time registered student attending classes at a college or university located in the State, and you have successfully completed one semester as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours) at said college or university

You have been employed full time (at least 35 hours per week) in the State for at least six (6) months preceding the date of the State Pageant.
