Middletown's Andrade Crowned Miss Rhode Island 2019

Middletown’s Molly Andrade was crowned Miss Rhode Island 2019 on Sunday at McVinney Auditorium in Providence.

She will now represent the state at the 2019 Miss America Competition which is set to take place in September in Atlantic City.

Caroline Parente was named Miss Rhode Island’s Outstanding Teen.

About Andrade

Andrade, a student at Endicott College, competed in the 2018 competition, but did not finish in the top four.

She won the 2018 Miss Rhode Island Miracle Maker Award and the Highest Ad Sales Award.

For the 2019 competition, her platform was self-defense for women as a means of empowerment.

Her talent was Irish step dance.

About Parente

Parente was named Miss Rhode Island’s Outstanding Teen.

She will now compete in the 2019 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition in Orlando, Florida in July.

Parente was awarded a $1,000 national scholarship and a $500 state scholarship.
