Miss Rhode Island 2015 Alexandra Curtis competed in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City on Sunday night -- but did not make the top 15.

Curtis, who competed as Miss West Warwick in the Miss Rhode Island pageant, counted musical theater performance as her talent, and her platform was "Leading Ladies: Equipping Young Women with the Skills to Lead."

Tonight is the night! I couldn't be more excited. One of two things will happen at 11 pm - either I will be the new Miss America and spend the next year traveling around the country as a national CMN ambassador, travel domestically and abroad with USO, and work with FLOTUS on my platform Leading Ladies. OR I will return to Rhode Island tomorrow and continue to serve as Miss Rhode Island as I complete my Master's degree at @brownu. I am calm knowing that whichever plan reveals itself for me is undoubtedly going to be life changing. What is for me, will not pass me. Tonight is merely a step in the next direction and down the road where I will be able to serve to the fullest extent. In all that I do, I will show my heart and serve others. I have Jeremiah 29:11 on my mind and in my heart. Opportunity awaits and there are no bad options.
