Whether you prefer pancakes or Johnny cakes, it's May Breakfast time, starting this weekend.

May Breakfasts are so Rhode Island, so delicious, and coming up statewide starting this weekend! Plan your calendar around them… 'tis the season.

Saturday, April 28

Cranston: May Breakfast
7am-11am  Traditional New England May Breakfast featuring sausage, eggs, pancakes, johnny cakes, fruit salad, beans, homefries, assorted pies, juice, coffee - all you can eat! Fudge, spring flowers, and gift baskets for sale. Adults $6.75, children 10 and under $4.00, under 3 free. Edgewood Congregational Church, 1788 Broad St, Cranston. Tiverton: May Breakfast
7-10am  The menu at the First Baptist "Old Stone" Church will feature jonnycakes, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, muffins, home fries, juice and coffee. Donations will be accepted to support the church and its ministries. For more information, call 624-4155. No reservations are necessary. 7 Old Stone Church Rd, Tiverton.

Barrington: Spring Breakfast
7am-noon  A breakfast by the PTO in the St. Luke’s School gym. On the menu are scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, bagels, toast, fruit, muffins, juice, coffee and, of course, pancakes. There will be raffle prizes (including a kids’ raffle) and silent auction. Tickets are $7, $4 for ages 3 to 11 and free for those under 3. Tickets may be purchased at the school at 246-0990 or at the door. Advance purchase is appreciated. Washington Rd, Barrington.

Warren: Spring Breakfast
8am-noon  Breakfast by the St. Thomas the Apostle Church Ladies Rosary Sodality includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, homefries, baked beans, toast, fruit cup, juice, doughnuts and coffee. Cranston: 145th Annual May Breakfast
6:30-11:30am  Oak Lawn Community Baptist Church, 229 Wilbur Avenue. Home of the original May Breakfast. Traditional fare of eggs, ham, cornbread, clam cakes, beverage, and homemade apple pie, served family style. Plus May baskets and homemade fudge for sale. Adults $7; children 10 and under $4. Cranston: 10th Annual Reading Across Rhode Island May Breakfast
9am-12pm  Reading Across Rhode Island ("One book, one state, literally") wraps up with a traditional May Breakfast with Caleb's Crossing Pulitzer Prize-winning author Geraldine Brooks as the guest speaker. Cranston: 2nd Annual May Breakfast
9am   Includes a full breakfast catered by Team Challenge Catering of Brockton, MA. There'll also be a silent auction, live auction, and raffles. 7-11am  Saint Matthew’s & Mark Episcopal Church's breakfast is from 7 to 11am, with the plant sale from 9am to noon. Tickets may be purchased at the door. They are $8 for adults, $5 for children, and free for children under 5. 5 Chapel Rd, Barrington.

Warwick: 87th Annual May Breakfast
7-10am  The menu at Norwood Baptist Church will include eggs (cooked to order), bacon or ham, home fries, baked beans, cereal, muffins, rolls, pie, juice, coffee, tea or milk.  Featured will be sale of all occasion gift baskets and candy filled May baskets. 7-10am  Riverpoint Congregational Church will hold its 48th Annual May Breakfast, featuring an all-you-can-eat buffet of Jonny Cakes, eggs, sausage, home-fries, pancakes, fresh fruit, muffins, pies, coffee, tea and fruit juice. Coventry: Literacy Volunteers of Kent County May Breakfast Fundraiser
8:30am-10:30am  As a combined effort with the Coventry Public Library Foundation, Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC) will be co-hosting its first ever May Breakfast Fundraiser at Nino's on Lake Tiogue. 446 Tiogue Ave., Coventry. Smithfield: May Breakfast Brunch

It's the 39th annual event, and join them for a homemade breakfast of blueberry and cranberry bread, chilled fruit cup, breakfast strata, Johnny cakes, Grandma's old fashioned baked beans, coffee and orange juice—served by Colonial-costumed volunteers in our historic House Museum. $15 per person includes a house tour. Barrington: May Breakfast
7:30am-11:30am Holy Angel's Church, Barrington
Holy Angels Church will host a May Breakfast in the lower church hall.  Handicap access through side door near mailbox (elevator). Tickets are $ 7 adults and $ 4 for a child.  Tickets will be on sale following Masses in May, by calling the Parish office at 245-7743 or purchase a ticket at the door the morning of the breakfast. Middletown: Birds & Breakfast
Join the Norman Bird Sanctuary for a spring morning with guided bird walks, activities for kids and a delicious breakfast prepared by the chefs at the White Horse Tavern in Newport. The annual Birds & Breakfast event will have seatings at 8, 9 and 10 a.m., with bird walks from 7:30-11 a.m. Tickets are $20 for adults in advance ($25 at the door), $5 for children ages 4 to 12, and free for kids 3 and under.
