URI vs UNH

Saturday will be the 89th meeting between URI and UNH, with the Wildcats leading the series 59-29.

The Rams won last year’s meeting 24-21 to close out the regular season.

However, the Wildcats have been dominant at home, holding a 34-9-3 record when hosting Rhode Island.

URI Offense

The Rams offense will be led by junior quarterback Vito Prior, who ranks second among all FCS quarterback with 360.5 passing yards per game.

In the Rhode Island’s triple OT loss to Delaware, Priore threw for a career-high 430 yards and three touchdowns.

Another key will be the Rams’ offensive line.

So far this season, URI’s offensive line is off to a strong start, having only allowed two sacks.

Rhode Island will also look to senior Aaron Parker.

Against Delaware, Parker hauled in 12 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown.

The previous week, he hauled in nine passes for 144 yards and a touchdown.

URI Defense

Entering the third game of the season, the Rams defense gives up an average of 42.5 points per game.

Rhode Island also gives up an average of 236.5 passing yards and 238 rushing yards.

Rhode Island’s defense will be led by Tea Wilson, and second-year players James Makszin, Andre Bibeault, and Keith Wells.
