Townes' Double-Double Leads Bryant to 71-63 Win Over Saint Peter's

Sebastian Townes leads Bryant with double-double
SeBastian Townes recorded his first career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Bryant Bulldogs defeated Saint Peter’s 71-63 on Wednesday night.

The victory was the first at Bryant for head coach Jared Grasso.

Grasso's first official career victory came while as the interim coach at Fordham, when the Rams defeated Stony Brook

Bryant improves to 1-2 on the seasons, while Saint Peter’s falls to 1-2.

Bryant Beats Saint Peter’s

Trailing 38-36 in the opening minutes of the second half, the Bulldogs went on a 14-3 run capped off by a Townes three to give Bryant a 50-41 lead with 13:51 to play.

Saint Peter’s would get within five, 59-54, with 7:43 to play before Bryant would get back-to-back threes from Townes and Adam Grant to push their lead to nine, 65-56 with just over seven minutes to play.

Grant added 18 points of his own on 6 of 13 shooting from the field and 4 of 9 from three.

Saint Peter’s would not get closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Next Up

The Bulldogs return to action Sunday, November 18 when they visit Navy.

Game time is set for 2 p.m.
