Townes' 34 Points Not Enough, Bryant Falls to Hartford 91-74

Sebastian Townes
Sebastian Townes poured in a career-high 34 points, but it was not enough as the Bryant Bulldogs fell to the University of Hartford 91-74 on Wednesday night at the Chace Athletic Center.

Townes shot 13-of-17 from the field and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line for the fifth-highest single-game point total of Bryant's Division I era.

"I thought our group was very competitive in the second half. I don't know why we weren't in the first half. That's something I need to figure out as a coach and something I take on myself. I need to get this group better and figure out the moves to make by January 3 for us to be a team to make the conference tournament and make a run in the conference tournament,” said Bryant head coach Jared Grasso after the game.

Bryant falls to 2-7 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 4-7 overall.

"The team knows what my expectations are, and I have very high expectations for this group. The flip side to that is that our season starts January 3. I'm the sorest loser and biggest competitor there is. But I also know that our real season starts January 3. We have 20 days to improve until January 3,” said Grasso.
