Former Red Sox great David Ortiz — “Big Papi” — was in Providence on Father’s Day.

Los Andes’ owners Cesin, Diego, and Omar Curi welcomed the soon-to-be MLB Hall of Famer — a father of three — at their popular restaurant on Chalkstone Avenue which features Peruvian and Bolivian cuisine.

And Ortiz was a returning diner — he’d been to Los Andes before, Cesin Curi told GoLocal.

“He joined us [Sunday] night with his family and friends,” said Curi. “It was his second visit.”

And what did the monster slugger partake in?

“He had lobster paella and he really enjoys our calamari,” said Curi.

46-year-old Ortiz is just the fourth Hall of Famer born in the Dominican Republic -- he joins Juan Marichal, Pedro Martinez and Vladimir Guerrero.

Ortiz will be enshrined on July 24 along with veteran committee selections Buck O'Neil, Minnie Miñoso, Gil Hodges, Tony Oliva, Jim Kaat and Bud Fowler

Meanwhile in Providence --  Los Andes is celebrating 15 years in Providence this year.
