The Providence College Friars battled with the reigning National Champions Villanova Wildcats for 34 minutes, but unfortunately, the game is 40 minutes long.

With 6 minutes left Villanova began to dominate. They showed their experience and maturity and PC struggled to score.

Providence led by two, 55-53, with 9:17 remaining but could not recover from a late Villanova run.
Nate Watson connected on 8-13 field goal attempts to score a team-high 18 points in the contest. Alpha Diallo added in 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Isaiah Jackson scored eight points and added six assists.

The Friars lost 85-67.

But, those two were the only two Friars in double figures.

In contrast, Villanova received big scoring nights from Eric Paschall’s 25 points,  Phil Booth’s 22, and Shamir Cosby-Roundtree's 12.

The Friars were down just 39-34 at the half and battled the 13th ranked Wildcats for nearly the entire second half.

Up next, Providence will return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center to take on Xavier on Saturday, Feb. 16. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on FOX.
