Providence College Beats DePaul, Moves to 3-0 in Big East

The Providence College men’s basketball team took a 20-14 first-half lead against the DePaul Blue Demons and extended it to 42-17 at the half, before cruising to victory on Saturday. 

PC came into the game as the #21 ranked team in the country. DePaul came into the game at 9-2 and 0-1 in the Big East.

That dominant run in the first half set the tone for the game and the 70-53 victory over DePaul.

The Friars were led by Al Durham with 17 points, and Justin Minaya had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The victory pushes the Friars to 3-0 in the Big East and 13-1 overall.

 

Georgetown Game Rescheduled

The BIG EAST Conference today (Jan. 1) announced the rescheduling of the Friar men's basketball game versus Georgetown.  The Friar home game versus Georgetown now will be played on Thursday, January 20, at 5 p.m. ET on FS1.

The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, December 22 but it was postponed due to Covid-19 issues within the Georgetown program. 

 

NEXT GAME: 

The Friars will travel on Tuesday, January 4 to play Big East rival Marquette University -- a 9 PM start.
