Prov. Police to Hold 5K & Kids Fun Run to Benefit Dorian J. Murray Foundation

The Providence Police Department will hold the first ever Providence Police Department Memorial 5k Road Race and Dorian Murray fun Run on Sunday May 22.
“The Providence Police Department hopes to make this road race an annual event and are looking to the community to help make our first year a success. Please come and join us for a fun filled day and to raise money for these worthy causes that make such a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis," said Chief Colonel Hugh Clements Jr.
Proceeds from the run will support the Dorian J. Murray (#D-Strong) Foundation, the Providence Police Foundation, and Cops for Kids with Cancer Charity fund.

“The Dorian J. Murray Foundation is honored to be working with the Providence Police Department at the Inaugural Providence Police Memorial 5k and Kids Fun Run. We are grateful to be included alongside the Providence Police Foundation and Cops for Kids with Cancer charities. Dorian would have been at the front of the line, ready to help with the cause!," said Melissa Murray.
The Fun Run and the 5K
Entry is open to the public and all participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medallion representing the Providence Police.
The first 750 participants to register will also receive a PPD Memorial 5k running hat.

The Kids Fun Run will start at 10 a.m. followed by the 5K at 11 a. All proceeds raised in the Kids Fun Run will be donated to the Dorian J. Murray Foundation.
The Race will being at the Rhode Island Convention Center located at One Sabin Street.
Awards will be handed out to the top three men and women from each age category as well as the top three in the family and friends, corporate, and police teams.
All runners and walkers are welcome.
