Duke led the Friars in scoring

PC lead 53-51 for the first time in the game with about 6 minutes left the Big East battle in Chicago and then — the offense left the building.

The Blue Demons outscored PC 16 to 2 the rest of the game. DePaul captured a critical 67-55 win.

The Friars simply could not score.

PC shot 28.6 percent for the game from the field.

The shooting woes had cost PC its second game in a row and pushed the Friars to second to last in the Big East standings.

The Friars were led freshman David Duke who had his best game in weeks scoring 17 points in 29 minutes.

Alpha Diallo had another solid scoring game with 15 points and led the team with 8 rebounds.

Paul Reed led the Blue Demons with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Up next, Providence will return home to play the Georgetown Hoyas on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 on FS1.
