PC’s Henton Named Finalist For Inaugural Julius Erving Award

Providence College senior forward LaDontae Henton has been named one of 15 finalist for the Julius Erving Award, an award given out by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The award is in its inaugural year and recognizes the top small forwards in Division 1 men's college basketball. The list of 15 candidates was decided by a national committee of top college basketball personnel.

Henton leads Providence and the Big East scoring while ranking seventh in the country, averaging 20 points per game, scoring 21 or more points in 14 of the Friars 26 games this season.
With three games left in the Friars season, LaDontae Henton is looking to become just the second player ever at Providence to score 2,000 or more points and grab 1,000 or more rebounds.
Henton currently sits at 1,924 points and 982 rebounds for his career.
The Providence College Friars are coming off an 84-57 win over DePaul on Wednesday night bringing them to 9-5 in conference play. Providence returns to action on Tuesday, February 24 when they visit #6 Villanova.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
