PC Loses to BC in Opening Round of NIT - One and Done

The Providence College men’s basketball hosted Boston College in the first round of the NIT and played with just seven scholarship players.
Two starters — Devin Carter and Rich Barron, were out with injuries.
Friars were down 31-30 at the half in a back and forth in the opening 20 minutes.

Jayden Pierre hit a shot clock buzzer-beater 3-pointer with 2:37 left to tie the game at 55. The bucket gave Pierre 21 points in the game, a career-high.
The additional frustration for the Friars was the shooting of Ticket Gaines, who was 1-8 from the field (7 points). In the Big East tournament, Gaines was 0-9 from the field against Marquette and 1-4 against Creighton. In the final three games, Gaines was just 2-21 from the field.
BC went up 57-55.
PC with the ball at 1:13 Oduro hit a hook shot to tie the game at 57-57.
BC’s Claudell Harris hit a 3 with 52 seconds left — putting the Eagles up 60-57. He led BC with 17 points.
Pierre got stripped, and BC scored, giving the Eagles a five-point victory—the largest margin of the game for either team.
BC won 62-57.
The only other Friar in double-figures was Oduro with 12 points.
The Friars finished the season 21-14.
