PC Falls to #11 Creighton - Friars Down 12 with 5 Minutes Left, Lose on Last Second Dunk

The Providence College men’s basketball team came back from a 12-point deficit with less than 5 minutes left to tie the game -- and then lost to the very talented #11-ranked Creighton Blue Jays in the last second 67-65.
For much of the game the Friars seemed to, shall we say, be less than performing at their peak.
A drive by David Duke at the 1:46 mark cut the lead Blue Jays lead to 65-61

Two free throws got the Friars to 65-63 by Noah Horchler.
The PC press forced a turnover with just 14.7 giving the Friars the chance to tie the game.
A drive by Horchler tied the game at 65 with 7 seconds and then Creighton exploited the Friars defense once again.
A mental lapse by the Friars on Creighton’s last possession allowed Christian Bishop to race down the lane for a dunk — he finished the game with 5 points.
The Friars' last shot at 0.8 by Duke fell far short.
The Friars are now 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the Big East.
How Did The Friars Get So Far Behind?
The two top Friars stars Duke and Watson each scored 13 points and shot a combined 7 for 21.
A.J. Reeves was not much help either scoring just 10 points on 3-10
Marcus Zegarowski of Creighton led all scorers with 20 points.
