PC Basketball Falls to 20 in National Polls

The Providence College Friars men's basketball team fell to 20 in the Coaches Poll and 23 in the AP Poll on Monday. The Friars are coming off an 1-1 week in which they lost to Marquette on the road and defeated Georgetown at home on Saturday.
This marks the 12th straight week in which Providence has been ranked.
The Polls
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTIn the Coaches Poll, the Friars dropped from 17 to 20 in the polls. PC is now ranked behind Notre Dame and Duke at 18 and 19 respectively, while ahead of Indiana and Baylor at 21 and 22 respectively.
In the AP Poll, Providence fell from 20 to 23 and are now behind SMU and Indiana at 21 and 22 respectively, while ahead of Texas and Baylor at 24 and 25 respectively.
The Friars are still one of three Big East teams in the polls along with Villanova, who is ranked number one overall in both polls, and Xavier, who is 8th in the AP and 7th in the Coaches.
RPI Rankings
For the second straight week, PC is not in the RPI rankings.
The RPI rankings measure the teams strength of schedule and is adjusted based on wins and losses and who those wins and losses come against.
Next up
Providence returns to action on Wednesday, February 17 when they visit #7 Xavier. Providence lost at home to Xavier earlier in the season.
Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
