The Black Bears finished the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 6-26.

“Proud of the way this group fought together. Found comfort in being vulnerable with one another, which allowed us to empty the tank despite significant adversity and personnel loss. They taught me a lot about the value of coaching with empathy. Tremendous character and heart,” Walsh said in a tweet after the game.

Walsh was the head coach at Maine since 2014 where he went 24-100 in four seasons.
