The Big East Tournament has been canceled due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus.

The tournament was canceled at halftime of Thursday’s first game between St. John’s and Creighton.

“Following a call with our Presidents and Athletics Directors and additional consultation with the City of New York, the Big East Conference has canceled the remainder of our men’s basketball tournament, effective immediately. We believe the decision is in the best interests of our participants and fans,” said the Big East in a statement.
