Former Patriots Named Hall of Fame Semifinalists

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its semifinalists for the class of 2015. The 26 modern-era semifinalists include offensive stars, defensive stalwarts and coaching legends. The list also includes four former Patriots — highlighted by Ty Law.
The full list of former Patriots that are up for Hall of Fame enshrinement are: Ty Law, Junior Seau, Tory Holt and John Lynch. Although Holt and Lynch did not play any games for the Patriots, they do count as former Patriots.
The other two names had a much longer lasting impact on the Patriots and fans across New England.

Although Seau’s true Hall of Fame caliber years were behind him, Seau played in 38 games as a member of the Patriots and made 179 tackles in his time.
Seau is most well known for his infectious smile and upbeat personality. In his sort time with the team, he became a fan favorite. Seau tragically died in an apparent suicide in May of 2012 and is on the Hall of Fame ballot for the first time.
Finally there is Ty Law. Just months after being inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame, Law finds himself for enshrinement in Canton in his first year on the ballot. Law spent 10 of his 15-year NFL career with the Patriots and is considered to be one of the greatest Patriots of all time. Law registered 36 of his 53 career interceptions as a member of the Patriots — including seven seasons of at least three interceptions.
Law is most well known for his dominant performances against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. He also had a momentum-changing interception for a touchdown against fellow semifinalist Kurt Warner and “The Greatest Show on Turf” St. Louis Rams in the 2001 Super Bowl.
The list will be further trimmed to 15 modern-era finalists in January.
