Bryant falls to Wagner
The Bryant Bulldogs fell 52-36 to the Wagner Seahawks on Saturday afternoon in Smithfield.

The Bulldogs have lost four of their last five games.

The loss drops Bryant to 5-5 overall and  2-4 in the NEC.

Wagner improves to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

The Seahawks jumped on the Bulldogs in the first quarter when Ryan Fulse ran it in from two yards out to put Wagner up 7-0 following an extra point from Eric Silvester.

After a Silvester field goal put Wagner up 10- at the end of the first quarter, the Seahawks added to their lead when Fulse ran in a touchdown from three-yards out to put the Seahawks up 17-0.

Bryant got on the board when Brenden Femiano broke a seven-yard touchdown run to cut Wagner’s lead to 17-7.

After Wagner’s T.J. Linta connected with D.E. Wilson on a 36-yard touchdown pass to put the Seahawks up 24-7, the Bulldogs would again cut Wagner’s lead to ten, 24-14, when Jean Constant returned a kick 97-yards for the touchdown.

The Bulldogs would get within ten on two more occasions, 31-21, and 38-28 midway through the third quarter before Wagner would pull away for good.

Leading 38-28, Fulse broke a 53-yard touchdown run to give the Seahawks a 45-28 lead with seven minutes left in the quarter.

Early in the fourth, Fulse would haul in a 28-yard pass from Linta to put the Seahawks up 52-28 with 7:51 to play in the game.

The Bulldogs would add a late touchdown to make the final score 52-36.

Bryant quarterback Broghean McGovern completed 17 passes for 198 yards with two interceptions as Bryant had just 256 yards of total offense.

Next Up

Bryant closes out the season on Saturday, November 17 when they visit Howard.

Game time is set for 1 p.m.
