“Homegrown: The Making of the 1972-73 Providence College Friars” is a new book that reveals how that once-in-a-lifetime team was assembled.

It is a retrospective of that team’s season, as well as a history of the school’s basketball program, which was itself responsible for drawing the local talent that propelled the 1973 Friars to the Final Four of the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

About Lonardo

As a freelance writer, he often collaborated with people to help them write and publish their biographies, memoirs, or to tell of a particularly compelling personal experience. Most involve local individuals.

Lonardo has had more than a dozen titles published.

He studied filmmaking/screenwriting at Columbia College Hollywood, earned an A.S. from Mount Ida College and a B.A. in English from the University of Rhode Island.
