Tom Brady throws his 400th touchdown pass

The New England Patriots (3-0) defeated the (1-2) Jacksonville Jaguars 51-17 on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots start the season 3-0 for the ninth time in franchise history.

"It was a good win today, I thought our team really came out and played well. We had a good week of practice and I thought a lot of that carried over into the game," Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said in his post game press conference.

With two minutes left in the second quarter, New England's Devin McCourty intercepted a Blake Bortles pass and returned it 27 yards to -the Patriots 43 yard line. Tom Brady then led the Patriots on an eight play drive concluding with a one yard pass to Danny Amendola in the back of the endzone to put the Patriots up 20-3 just before the half.

The Touchdown pass was also Brady's 400th of his career, the fourth player in history to achieve that milestone.

"It was a good day, it was fun to be out there, I think everyone enjoyed it. It was a good team win, a lot of guys made plays out there," Tom Brady said after the game.

Overall, Brady was 33-42 for 358 yards and two touchdowns in the game and has thrown for 824 yards in the last two games.

New England's offense rolled the entire game, scoring points on every offensive drive to give the Patriots an easy win.

The Patriots return to action on Sunday, October 11th when they visit the Dallas Cowboys. New England will take their bye week next weekend.

Stephen Gostkowski

Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski set a new NFL record for most consecutive extra points made with 425.

With the extra point now moved back for this season, they are not guarentees anymore.

Gostkowski became the Patriots all time leadng scorer last season and signed a four year extension prior to this season.

Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski was involved in a collision with James Sample in the third quarter trying to catch a pass from Brady with 11:38 to go.

Both players were shaken up on the play and Gronkowski was not noticible the rest of the game. He did come in late in the fourth quarter but only to block.

Anytime Gronkowski gets any sort of injury it is a concern.

LeGarrette Blount

Running back LeGarrette Blount saw his first real meaningful action of the season against Jacksonville and looked in form. Blount had three touchdowns in the game.

Blount had 18 carries for 78 yards rushing and averaged five yards per carry.

Remember, Blount was suspended for the first game of the season and only had two carries coming into the game.

No Let Down

With the bye week coming up and coming off a huge win over Buffalo last week, it would have been easy to overlook Jacksonville and just try to sleep walk through the game.

However, that did not happen. New England built a lead at halftime and in the second half extended the lead, making for a stress free game.

Last week, the Patriots nearly blew a huge lead against Buffalo, letting them get within five points with four minutes to go.

Tom Brady 400

Tom Brady found Danny Amendola in the end zone on a one yard pass for his 400th career touchdown pass.

Brady becomes the fourth player in NFL history to reach 400 touchdown passes.

Overall, Brady was 33-42 for 358 yards and two touchdowns in the game and has thrown for 824 yards in the last two games.

During the game, Brady also tied Bruce Armstrong for the most games played in Patriots history wth 212.
