Memory of George Patrick Duffy

Duffy, a former Rhode Island Reds Radio Broadcaster was a legendary youth sports coach in his beloved Pawtucket, and had the Slater Park baseball fields named for him years before he died. No one can live forever, but the life lessons Duffy taught his players over his remarkable 7 decades of will coaching live on.

Double Dipping

This isn't about the ignoramus that puts his chip into the dip bowl twice. GoLocalProv's Stephen Beale reports that there are scores of Rhode Island pensioners who are working for state and local governments in Rhode Island. And you thought retirement was for people who were too old to do their jobs.

Larry Lucchino

The President of the Boston Red Sox and leader of the ownership group that recently purchased the Pawtucket Red Sox told reporters earlier this week that the state of Rhode Island must "be flexible" with the new team in its pursuit to move the team to Providence and have taxpayers subsidize the new stadium. Why does everyone involved in the negotiations, from House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello to Lucchino act like it's the team that has all the leverage here? Will anyone stand up to Lucchino?
