NEW: Sen. Nesselbush Not Seeking Reelection

Rhode Island State Senator Donna Nesselbush announced Friday she is not seeking reelection this year. 

Nesselbush, a Democrat representing District 15 which includes Pawtucket and North Providence

"It has been my great honor and pleasure to serve the people of District 15 for the past 10 years. However, at this time, I have decided not to seek reelection. 

I plan to remain active in state and local politics, continuing to advocate for democracy and the issues about which I care deeply. As a lawyer, Municipal Court Judge, wife, daughter and friend, “I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep." 

Thank you to my constituents, supporters and my wonderful Senate colleagues. Many of you have become valued friends. It has been an amazing 10 years of public service to my community and my state.
