McKee Releases Names of Lt. Governor Candidates
Tuesday, February 09, 2021
From the President of the Providence City Council to the candidate who Dan McKee beat in the Democratic primary in 2018 for the Lt. Governor's seat, those vying to be potential Rhode Island Governor McKee's number two have submitted their names.
Some are well known politicos and others are private citizens, but all are hoping to be the next Rhode Island Lt. Governor -- if the position becomes vacant.
The vacancy may be dependent on a Republican U.S. Senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, who has a hold of Governor Gina Raimondo's nomination to serve as Secretary of Commerce in President Joe Biden's administration. It is not known how long Cruz will block Raimondo's appointment.
