Fung’s Fundraiser Is Running for Mayor of Providence

In one of the strangest political twists of the strange political season, Dee Dee Witman, the chief fundraiser for Republican candidate for Governor Allan Fung, has taken out papers to be a candidate for Mayor of Providence.
Whitman has been a political fundraiser from a range of primarily Democratic candidates for office. In 2014, she fundraised for the failed campaign for the late Vincent “Buddy” Cianci.
Fungs spokesman refused to respond to questions.

She has never held or run for office in the past.
Witman has previously fundraised for Richard Licht and Joseph Paolino.
