"I am excited to announce that State Representative Grace Diaz has endorsed my candidacy for Mayor of Providence. Representative Diaz is a passionate and effective advocate, a leader who fights for our city every day. We’ve worked together at the grassroots level on issues ranging from housing to economic development. I’m looking forward to partnering with her as Mayor to build healthy, equitable, and resilient communities in every neighborhood. Grace believes in Providence," said Cuervo.
"Her endorsement adds to our growing coalition of supporters, including State Senators Maryellen Goodwin and Ana Quezada, State Representatives Jose Batista and Ramon Perez, Providence City Council members Rachel Miller and Kat Kerwin, and former Providence Mayor Angel Taveras," Cuervo added.
Matt Brown and Cynthia Mendes New Field Director
The new campaign staffer for the Democratic gubernatorial and Lt. Governor candidates running together introduced himself to supporters in an email.
"My name is Owen Elrifi and I’m Matt and Cynthia’s new Field Director! We've sent you a lot of emails talking about why we need money, but this one's a little different. When it comes down to it, there are two big things that win elections: money and people. A Field Director’s job is to make sure our campaign is reaching out directly to as many people as we possibly can to spread the word about this incredible movement for a $19-an-hour Living Wage, a Green New Deal, Housing Justice, and universal healthcare in Rhode Island.
This is especially important this election; there’s a crowded field for Governor, and we know that big corporations and their wealthy executives are lined up to fund our opponents and protect the status quo. That's why we are building a grassroots movement of Rhode Islanders to take on the establishment and fight for bold, progressive change."
