WWII Army Veteran, Anthony G. Cicci, Passes at 98

Anthony was the beloved son of the late Liborio Cicci and Madeline (Di Zazzo) Cicci and the devoted brother of his only sister and sibling, the late Margaret (Cicci) Fusco, a victim of polio, whom he lovingly cared for during most of their lives together.
Tony, as most of his family and friends fondly knew him, was a Veteran of World War II who served gallantly in the United States Army from the inception of the war until its end. He served his country proudly. In civilian life, Tony worked for the Leesona Corporation for many years.

He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society where he made it his mission to aid the disadvantaged people of the parish by disseminating food. He was a member of the Holy Name Society. A constant welcoming face, he was a reliable usher at Sunday Mass. Soft-spoken, smiling, gentle and kind, Tony led an exemplary Christian life.
In his final years at the nursing facility, Tony made several friends who were touched by him as he wheeled his way around to brighten people’s days. Even the staff and caretakers were impressed with Tony and his caring and loving ways as one of them referred to him as “the model resident and patient.” He will be sincerely missed by all of those who met him and loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence, on Thursday, May 27, at 10:00 a.m.
Due to Covid Restrictions, Mass and Burial will be Private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony’s memory may be made to St. Bartholomew Church.
