World War II Veteran Arthur N. Alexander, Jr., formerly of Cranston Dies at 97

Arthur N. Alexander, Jr., 97, formerly of Warwick Avenue, Cranston, died Thursday at the Rhode Island Veterans home in Bristol.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Arthur and Madeline (Srocco) Alexander, he had been a lifelong resident of Providence and Cranston. Mr. Alexander worked for Federal Chain for many years before his retirement in 1985.
He served in the United States Army during WWII, where he was stationed in Guam.
He leaves a sister, Norma F. Nunes of Warwick. Arthur was the brother of the late Evelyn H. Hendricks, Dolores Begin, Alfred, Louis, and Madeline J. Alexander.
His funeral will be Wednesday at 9 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Paul Church, One St. Paul Place, Edgewood at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Saint Paul Church will be appreciated. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. www.trainorfh.com
